ENS Diploma
The ENS diploma is generally awarded after three years of study at the ENS. Normaliens students obtain their diploma at the end of their period at the ENS, i.e. at the end of the fourth year.
Students arriving in possession of 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) will be able to achieve a master's level of study, amounting to a total of 180 ECTS (L3 + M1 + M2).
In addition, the ENS diploma requires students to acquire 72 ECTS, freely distributed over their years of study. Students must validate: 24 ECTS required in the Physics Department, 24 ECTS outside the Physics Department and 24 ECTS of their choice.
Exceptionally, the ENS diploma can be obtained only after two years of study (on condition of obtaining these 72 ECTS), by French and foreign students who have joined the ENS at Master's level.
